![]() ![]() H&R seemed to produce more top break revolvers after WW2 more than Iver Johnson did, although Iver did make some. (Remington is believed to have done something similar with rolling blocks and their cartridge revolvers, and, of course the German military did it as well (theirs was a subscript). Not sure (and only skimmed your posting) about your letter prefix but in general, a letter prefix by a serial number was part of the serial number since Iver Johnson generally numbered in batches of 100,000 and then added a prefix and started over. 38 S&W centerfires so many people associated with them. Both H&R and Iver Johnson probably by early 1920s were selling more of their solid frame revolvers than break tops. His books were somewhat of works in progress and he indicated that in his books. Unfortunately, he has been dead for several years. If you are interested in either Iver Johnson or Harrington and Richardson revolvers, I recommend the works of Bill Goforth (Iver Johnson Arms and Cycle Works and H&R Arms Company). ![]()
